During the Second World War, an Italian prisoner of war camp (no. 282) was located near Brissenden Green, the precise location is believed to be Honghorst House, the camp was associated with another at Woodchurch, near Tenterden in Kent
hand made in what feels like a carpet wool through a hessian cloth base. 6th Battalion DLI initials to the left with the date 1915 on right, national flags of Belgium, France and United Kingdom, with stylised blue and red crosses either side. The initials J & F in the centre area would most probably be the originator of the piece. A WW1 period item,
