WW1 GERMAN COMMEMORATIVE VETERANS LEAGUE CAMPAIGN SERVICE MEDAL
the 32 mm wide bronze wash alloy medal has to its obverse, the image of a Victory angel about to place a wreath of laurels upon the head of a German soldier. The soldier’s helmet is in his right hand, while his left holds a rifle. To the reverse of the medal is the image of a 1914 Iron Cross, with oak leaves and acorns along its base, and the legend “Fürs Vaterland” (For the Fatherland) arching above it. Award comes complete with the original ribbon, court mounted onto a metal back plate but is loose with the attachment pin missing.
