Private Dowding was Military Medal recommended for Conspicuous Bravery and devotion to duty during the attack at Passchendaele Ridge on October 30th 1917. He is recorded as ‘Died of Wounds’ Gas Attack at No12 Canadian Field Ambulance on !st Febuary 1918 and is buried at the Sucrerie Cemetary at Ablain – St Nazaire
